Cignal Shocks Creamline in Five-Set Comeback in PVL Reinforced Conference
Cignal Super Spikers proved its resilience when it mattered most, overcoming a 1–2 set deficit to outlast defending champion Creamline Cool Smashers in a gripping five-set showdown, 18-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-16, 15-11, in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Tuesday at the Ynares Center in Montalban.
The victory not only gave the Super Spikers a share of Creamline’s 5-3 record but also guaranteed them at least a top-six finish heading into the quarterfinals. Creamline remains locked in at fourth place with 17 points, while Cignal sits at 13 points, awaiting its final seeding based on the upcoming Petro Gazz–PLDT match.
Trebichavska Takes Over
Slovak import Katrin Trebichavska spearheaded Cignal’s comeback, firing 20 points built on 15 attacks, three blocks, and two aces. She delivered three straight points to ignite a 9-4 advantage in the fifth set and later hammered the match-winning hit after two hours and 25 minutes of intense play.
The Super Spikers also leaned on major boosts from their bench. Vanie Gandler stepped up with 15 points, 10 excellent receptions, and seven digs, while rookie Jessa Ordiales added nine points in a breakout performance after checking in for Erika Santos.
Supporting Cast Delivers
Setter Gel Cayuna steered the offense with 28 excellent sets and three points, while middle blockers Rose Doria-Aquino and Jackie Acuña contributed 12 and 10 points, respectively. Acuña even drilled the crucial quick attack that pushed Cignal to match point at 14-10.
Libero Dawn Catindig anchored the floor, finishing with 28 digs to help weather Creamline’s late-set rallies.

Creamline Holds No. 4 Seed
Despite the loss, the Cool Smashers remain settled at the No. 4 position entering the quarterfinals. Creamline pushed Cignal behind the efforts of its core, but ultimately couldn’t contain the Super Spikers’ late surge.
With both teams ending the preliminaries at 5-3, Cignal’s strong finish gives them a much-needed confidence boost as they head into the playoff grind.
