The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is gearing up for another exciting season, tipping off on March 8, 2025. This year marks the league’s seventh season and its fourth as a professional league. Fans can expect a thrilling race for the top spots in the regular season standings, with 30 teams vying for playoff glory.
2025 MPBL Playoffs Team Standings
The 2025 MPBL playoffs begin on October 10, 2025. The first two rounds (Division Quarterfinals and Semifinals) will be a best-of-three series, while the subsequent Division and National Finals will be best-of-five.
For 2025 MPBL season, all 30 teams will compete in a single round-robin format during the regular season, with each team facing every other squad once for a total of 29 games apiece. Every gameday will feature a slate of matchups hosted in one arena, with the designated home team traditionally taking the court in the day’s final game.
As for the postseason, the league has introduced a new structure. The top six teams in each division will automatically secure playoff berths. Meanwhile, those finishing in the seventh to tenth spots will battle it out in a play-in tournament, fighting for the last two tickets to the 2025 MPBL playoffs.

Batangas City Tanduay Rum Masters defeat Biñan Tatak Gel, 70–62, to force a winner-take-all Game 3 in the MPBL South Division semifinals. Baloria and Apinan lead Batangas to a clutch series-saving win.
