The wait is over!
The highly anticipated 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference officially serves off on Tuesday, July 16th at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
This year’s edition promises to be an electrifying spectacle, featuring a thrilling mix of international imports and a hungry batch of rookies ready to make their mark.
Action-Packed Pool Play Sets the Stage
Following the historic first PVL Rookie Draft on July 8th, the league dives straight into the competition with a full slate of pool play matches from July 16th to August 6th. This year’s conference boasts a unique format that ensures every game counts. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:
- Twelve Teams, Two Pools: The participating teams are divided into two pools based on their All-Filipino Conference rankings.
- Double Round Robin with a Twist: The preliminary phase consists of two rounds. In the first round, teams within each pool play a single round-robin format. The top three teams from each pool will advance to a second-round crossover, where they will compete against the bottom three teams from the opposite pool.
- Knockout Playoffs Determine the Champion: After the preliminaries, the top eight teams advance to a thrilling knockout stage. Each round, from the quarterfinals to the semifinals, will be a do-or-die battle, culminating in a winner-take-all championship match. The losers from the semifinals will clash for the coveted bronze medal.
