Game 4 Preview: Rain or Shine vs. Magnolia

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters find themselves on the brink of securing a spot in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup semifinals as they prepare to face the Magnolia Hotshots in Game 4 of their quarterfinals series on October 1 at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. Holding a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series, Rain or Shine is riding high after a thrilling 111-106 overtime victory in Game 3.

At the heart of the Elasto Painters’ success has been import Aaron Fuller, who has shown remarkable resilience. Despite suffering a scratched cornea from a poke by Ian Sangalang in Game 2, Fuller returned for Game 3 and delivered a heroic performance, posting 29 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists. His presence was crucial in overtime, where he scored nine points and made several key plays to lift his team to victory.

Fuller’s grit has been an inspiration to the Elasto Painters, and he will be crucial once again as they look to seal the series against a Magnolia team that will undoubtedly fight tooth and nail to stay alive. Rain or Shine knows they’ll need to channel the same warrior mentality in Game 4 as they attempt to deliver the knockout blow.

Jhonard Clarito has also been a consistent contributor for Rain or Shine, scoring 18 points and grabbing 8 rebounds in Game 3, following up on his 20-point performance in their Game 1 win. Magnolia, facing elimination, is expected to come out with a renewed sense of urgency, making this Game 4 clash a potential nail-biter. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium, with Rain or Shine aiming to punch their ticket to the next round.
