Preview: TNT Aims to Clinch Championship in Game 6
After a dominant 99-72 Game 5 victory that left Barangay Ginebra reeling, TNT Tropang Giga is on the brink of clinching its second straight PBA Governors’ Cup title.
The pivotal Game 6 of the Finals tips off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 8, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, with TNT looking to close out the series and the Gin Kings desperate to force a winner-takes-all Game 7.
The Tropang Giga’s Game 5 win was a statement in both offense and defense. TNT held Ginebra to its lowest scoring output of the playoffs, limiting superstar import Justin Brownlee to a career-low eight points on 3-of-13 shooting. At one point, the Tropang Giga extended their lead to an astounding 36 points, turning the matchup into a one-sided affair.
For Barangay Ginebra, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Down 3-2 in the best-of-seven series, the Gin Kings must channel their signature never-say-die spirit to stave off elimination and keep their championship hopes alive.
Will TNT finish the job and celebrate back-to-back championships, or will Ginebra mount another comeback and force a thrilling Game 7? The stage is set for another heated clash as the Finals intensify.
