Creamline Outlasts Chery Tiggo to Clinch Top 3 in PVL Pool B

The Creamline Cool Smashers wrapped up the first round of the 2025 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference on a strong note, outlasting the Chery Tiggo EV Crossovers, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-17, on Tuesday at the Playtime FilOil Centre in San Juan City.

With the victory, the defending champions improved to a 3-2 record, securing at least a Top 3 finish in Pool B with 10 points—enough to edge Petro Gazz (3-2, 8 points), which fell earlier in the day to unbeaten ZUS Coffee. The Thunderbelles currently lead the group at 4-0 (12 points), followed by Akari (3-1, 9 points).

It wasn’t a walk in the park for Creamline, as the Cool Smashers had to claw their way back from a set down and grind through tightly contested second and third sets before cruising to victory in the fourth.

Down 21-23 in the third frame, Creamline leaned on Tots Carlos and setter Kyle Negrito to stage a late rally. Carlos fired three clutch kills before Negrito surprised Chery Tiggo’s defense with a bold 1-2 play that gave them the pivotal 2-1 set lead.

Riding the momentum, the Cool Smashers stormed to an 8-4 start in Set 4, anchored by import Courtney Schwan and middle blocker Pangs Panaga. Rookie Nica Celis added spark with a running attack that stretched the lead to 18-11, sealing the deal for Creamline’s bounce-back win.

Schwan delivered a stellar performance, finishing with 29 points on 25 attacks and four service aces. Carlos followed with 17 points and 20 excellent receptions, while Panaga added 16 markers, including five crucial blocks that kept Chery Tiggo’s attackers in check.

Negrito orchestrated the offense masterfully with 29 excellent sets and chipped in four points, while Celis contributed five points in an impactful showing off the bench. Despite committing 28 errors, Creamline dominated in attacks (63-52) and service aces (8-1), proving their depth and composure under pressure.
